For the purpose of this blog I am going to refer to myself as Jowett.  I am currently working on tour with a successful British music band. I work very closely with the members of the band and spend all my time around them. However, due to legal reasons, I cannot reveal the band’s identity.

While on tour and working around them I have decided to keep a record of some of the conversations and incidents that arise.

I am going to use this blog as a way of recording the events and conversations that happen with the band while on tour. I have had permission from all parties to record these conversations and publish them, no matter how controversial.  They have however, expressed to be left nameless.

I will hopefully be updating this blog at least once a week, depending on arising situations.

If you would like to get in touch, drop us an email at imonthebandwagon@hotmail.co.uk

  1. Okay, that sounds interesting enough I might just have to start following these conversations. The question is: Is it real, or is it Memorex?

  2. Good deal! Did my time on the road with a band. when I wasn’t worried about whether my keyboards had been stowed correctly I read.
Of course this was back in the fays before affordable laptops wireless and indoor plumbing,

    am already enjoying the posts.

  3. the master says:

Oh man. I used to have a really bad habit of evesdropping on people’s conversations while out and about, and then writing them down when I got home. Trouble was, I invariably forgot chunks of dialogue, and even entire conversations. It was when I considered taking a notepad with me and jotting snippets down that I realized I was venturing into obsessive-compulsive territory, and decided to stop.

I guess what I’m saying is, I wish I’d thought of recording them.

  4. Jason says:

Hey nice to meet you guys. What sort of music does the band play?

    • Hey! I’d say they play rock/indie music really. But they hate it when i catagorise them. Mike says “we aren’t part of a group” until i point out that they are, they are in a band.

  5. Tannis says:

I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out who this band is. I

  6. Zebukiah McCrae says:

Hey, thanks for the look and like, got a kick out of this site!

  7. jennywynter says:

Haha, nice blog, I’m so curious who you’re working with! Anyhoo, just wanted to pop over and say hi and thanks for liking the vid…desperate times and all that…

    Jen. x

  8. Babs M says:

what an interesting format you have! Best wishes!

  9. I stopped by, and found it to be an interesting blog. I know I miss my days touring with a band. Had a blast, and I wish I would have thought of something like imonthebandwagon when I was doing it. Hope you’re having as much fun as I did.

  10. I have subscribed and look forward to reading and judging with abandon! Thanks for the like 😉

  11. genesismeranda says:

Wandered over after you liked my zombie apocalypse post. 1. Thanks for the like, it always makes me smile to see that someone gets a laugh from the often ridiculous things that come out of my head. 2. After wandering over and taking a peek, I (like everyone else here haha) have found this incredibly interesting. My ex boyfriend was in a small local band for several years and would travel to surrounding states for shows. Let me just say, 5 guys traveling for weeks or months together can have some preeetty awkward conversations. haha Looking forward to coming back later to actually read through some of these posts. =)

  12. alanschuyler says:

This is an unusual concept (to me) and I’m enjoying living vicariously through you.
BTW: You’re showing your youth by not knowing Memorex. You didn’t miss anything but tapes that got mangled in your tape player. But only the tapes of the bands you loved. The crap tapes would play forever.

  13. We still play our cassettes, so there… that certainly ages me! Seems the Like option works for having people then check you out, but fortuitous for me. I’m intrigued and since you’ve read my post about Mohawk Girl and Old Man on a Bike, you know that intrigue leads to “following” and then I may create an entire myth for you as well. 😉 Ok, not likely, as your real life sounds pretty interesting right now… look forward to following along for a while, to see how it plays out. Thanks for checking out my blog.

  14. I never tour with anybody, so I’m hooked on your blog now and by the way thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog.

  15. Mama J says:

Interesting, I’m so intrigued! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love British bands so I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts. Now you have me wondering which band it is!

  16. Im a sucker for wanting to know things! I have to figure out who this band is!
    Nice blog! 🙂

  17. Love your blog. Makes me laugh out loud. I’ll be back…

  18. Thomas Smith says:

Your blog is a lot of fun. Reminds me of my own days traveling with bands way back in the days just before the last dinosaurs died.

  19. Jenn Sierra says:

What a creative idea for a blog! I’m adding this to my reading list – you and your band are hillarious. 😉 Well done.

  20. PC PHOTO says:

yes, I agree your approach to this blog is brilliant and creative!

  21. well done… avoid Plymouth

  22. beckyyk says:

Cool blog!! I like the clever title as well.

  23. I like your style and the concept, even if I’m not exactly the target. I remember taking my teens to cool indie band concerts, in my high waisted mom jeans and band du jour t shirt, and trying not to be so obviously the “thing that’s not like the others”. Although my kids always objected when I went so far as to crowd surf.

  24. Thanks for checking out the site! This is a great idea for a blog, by the way.

  25. I’ve enjoyed reading some of your stuff! Very entertaining (and informative). I have a nephew in the Norwegian punk band Honningbarna and a husband on the classical circuit and I can tell you that the conversations you’re recording here sound suspiciously familiar no matter what the music crew. Great minds thinking alike and all that . . . .

  26. Andrea Doray says:

I’m glad I found you…great format and laugh-out-loud stuff. Nicely done!

  27. Samantha says:

You blog seems so interesting and fun. Will definitely be keeping an eye out on it. 🙂

  28. Longshot says:

Hope the band likes the BLUES!!!

Thanks for the like on my Wild Wednesday ~

  29. sjennylove says:

Thanks for the Like “Jowett”! 😉 What a clever idea for a blog!

  30. Really funny stuff you’ve got here!

  31. Thanks for visiting my blog. Until I saw your “About” page I thought that the conversation on your home page might be fictional. Recording (and posting) these convesations is a great idea.

  32. Flossie says:

You liked one of my posts so I thought I’d check you out. Do you know how difficult it was to find you?!! :))

  33. You have me hooked now 😉

  34. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I just wanted to stop by and say hi and I have to say, your blog has really got me intrigued. I look forward to hearing (and reading) more. How cool of a job do you have?! I’m an kind of jealous lol.

  35. Well, I m intrigued! And, since you dropped by my blog and pushed the like button – well I just had to come over and find out who in the world is “imonthebandwagon.” As you noticed, I am taking a break from daily blogging – however, this will supposedly leave me all sorts of time to read other blogs and comment (in my usual brief and terse way – 😆 ). So I expect you will see me nosing around here occasionally! I do hope you will be back to visit me – if you subscribe,to my blogl, then whenever I put up a post it will show up in your e-mail box. That way you will know when I’m back!

Have fun on the road. As my Mom always used to tell me. . .”Remember who you are.”

  36. Jowett,

Thanks for leaving some “likes” on my blog. Do you have to type out all of these conversations after you record them, or do you have some other way of getting them “in print.”

  37. LKD says:

Some funny stuff here. Keep going!

  38. I’m glad I popped over to your ‘about’ page as I must admit my initial reaction to your posts was Hmmmm.

    I shall be back.

    *puts on thinking cap*

  39. Nora L Pratt says:

Stopped in to thank you for stopping by. I’m intrigued however and will be popping in again. Thanks again!

  40. pattisj says:

What an interesting job that must be! You should never be at a loss for material to write about. Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂

  41. scpopphan says:

You guys are quite witty! Reminds me of conversations with my own friends, haha.

  42. yosaso says:

Hey imonthebandwagon. I really appreciate the “like” you gave me on my post. It warms my heart you were entertained

  43. lana359 says:

This looks interesting! I’ll be back.

  44. bwkairos says:

You have an interesting blog, it must be entertaining to travel with a band and record their conversations. I’ll definitely be back to see what else is in store!

  45. boncheri05 says:

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the like! (Even though I can see that you’re somewhat easy with your likes 😉 I’ll take it)
Your blog is very amusing and I will definitely check it out some more!!
    Thanks again!

  46. Ooh I am totally hooked! 🙂

  47. elliescribe says:

Just became acquainted with you and your diary/blog…whatever. Don’t know if you’re for real but whether you are or not – a good and entertaining read.
In case you’re bored and between gigs, perhaps you’d like to drop by my two blogs that are similar to yours in nature:

http://myviewscount.blogspot.com/ (you already read this in WordPress) or…

Write on, that’s what I always say – and write. Looking forward to more updates.

  48. Birdman says:

Thanks for checking out my blog. I just noticed you can see who likes posts, it was only you :(. When I get home I’ll peruse yours, it looks cool and interesting. Cheers

  49. duncanr says:

Clever title for your blog – I like it !

    Just ignore me

Carry on talking amongst yourselves while I have a little mooch around to see if I can find where you’ve hidden the booze 😆

  50. What an awesome blog! Just saw that you were checking out mine, and I am loving yours! Have fun touring! Hope you have all the success that the world can give to you!

  51. caitlambert says:

Thank you for the like on my poll! I’ll be following you from now on & your blog seems very mysterious and interesting. I kind of wish I knew the band so I could look them up and see how they sound.

    See ya around WordPress! 😀

  52. This is really great. Seriously? You don’t know what Memorex was? Now that’s funny, too!

  53. Ha! You really make me laugh–good fun. Thanks.

  54. Hello, I’ve nominated your blog for THE VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD! Yippieeeeeeeee!! Check it out http://verynormal.wordpress.com/2011/09/21/versatile-blogger-award/

  55. Thanks for reading my little Wizzy allegory! I’m just trying to give a gentle comment on some social and political stuff . I wish i could send you all( boys and girls of the band) some freshly baked chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies direct from my little cozy house! Cheers from Canada!

  56. faithspeaker says:

Thanks for the like. The convesations keep me going. I will continue to check you out.

  57. Hi there Anon

I am nominating you for ‘The Versatile Blogger Award’, a peer award that will bring a few more readers to IAMONTHEBANDWAGON. This blog seems to have garnered quite a following.
    good work!

The ‘The Versatile Blogger Award’, should you choose to accept it, comes with a little checklist. Check out the latest post on SlavesInc for the details.

  58. Lee Lowenstein says:

A quick nod for liking one of my blog posts. Wickedly cool to know someone actually reads what I write.

Does that mean I need to be more careful now?

Don’t mind if I drop by your place every now and then to poke around. Post some unreleased music so we can enjoy the other side of your talents.

  59. Lovely blog! My best friend is a Yorkshire lass. I hope you don’t hold that against me. I try to stalk bands, but old groupies like me are mostly frowned up on. Best wishes on a super cool blog. Great idea. Plus, fun life. At least, I reckon it’s quite fun!

  60. Sharon K Owen says:

This is really interesting. I look forward to future postings.

  61. jpothen says:

    This looks like fun 🙂

  62. Thanks for the like on my post! Are you into guns? Also I hope the band can look back and enjoy this blog!

  63. cookster76 says:

Awesome premise for a blog and very funny.

  64. Interesting blog – I hope you will one day be able to reveal the band’s true identity! Thanks for checking out my blog and liking my post!

  65. Titanium Pen says:

One day he might just reveal that it’s all from his imagination…imagine how that would be! 😀

  66. Thanks for the like 🙂 your blog provides this poor stuck-at-home-mom with some much needed laughs.

  67. Tincup says:

Creative idea…I was wondering if you have some access to the groupies:)

  68. HaplessDad says:

    Your blog looks so cool!

  69. samshine20 says:

sounds like you have quite the interesting concept goin here, can’t wait to read some of the entries. 🙂

  70. Wisdomlily says:

    Hi Jowett!

This is a very fascinating concept! Wow!
Anyway, I just dropped by to say thank you for liking one of my blog posts.

I think I might even put some of the conversations I have with people on my blog as a result of you 😉

  71. kweas558 says:

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Looking forward to reading more of yours now too!

  72. Hi and thanks for visiting my blog. Glad you liked it — I’ll be sure to visit your site for more updates!

  73. amjwriter says:

Lovely daft blog. Anxiously waiting further postings (oops that sounded like something out if a spy thriller — maybe the Muppets should do a remake of 007 films!)

  74. Fun stuff! Just got a chance to stop by and take a peek…

Thanks for visiting Steph’s Scribe…It’s good to “see” new faces…

  75. Sounds like the perfect opportunity for some high-class creative nonfiction.

  76. pharphelonus says:

Great idea, and very amusing and enlightening

  77. mexicocityobserver says:

You popped over to my blog which seemed rather odd, but then I popped over to yours and guess you must be seaching for “humor”!
Good luck with your posts. I don’t think you need to worry about inspiration, it seems to come naturally to you.

  78. Thank you for pressing the like button on my blog.

What a fabulous opportunity for you.
    Good luck and enjoy!

  79. Hi there! Thanks for “liking” my “Cone-Dog” poem…and your blog sounds very creative and interesting…I’ll be back for more reading! 🙂

  80. Nice, I look forward to reading more about your Journey. 🙂

  81. Cari says:

Thanks for taking a swing by my blog post, “I’ve Been Tagged!” along your tour with the band. Appreciate the like & appreciate this concept. Very intriguing. I’ve subscribed/followed here & on Facebook, so I’m sure I’ll be seeing a lot of interesting things along the way.

Enjoy your travels & your conversations! Cheers! 😀

  82. Like others – thanks for checking out my blog and “liking” my post “I’m So Tired My Face Feels Weird.” Your blog looks really fun!

  83. Really cool idea!! Thanks for the “Like” on my zZzzZz post!! I’m definitely going to follow you because I’m already interested in what you hear and write to your readers.

  84. I genuinely don’t know if I’m going to be able to follow this, as I guess for legal reasons I’ll never find out who it is. Being British and a fan of this music it kills me to think I probably have them on iPod. Screw it, lets see what happens.

  85. limebirdbeth says:

Great blog! Enjoyed reading your posts. I’m British and love music, so I’ll look forward to reading more!

  86. Great blog – I’ve subscribed! Thanks for finding me and “like” on my most recent post about Showing Up. Cat

  87. This concept it legit … and it actually makes me laugh which is a hard thing to do.

  88. oldandfuzzy says:

Hey, thanks for “liking” my post. Your blog is a crack-up – will have to keep an eye on you!

  89. wordsurfer says:

If I didn’t hate the acronym, I’d write “LOL”. Because that’s what you made me do. Just wandered over from your ‘like’ on my post. Very sneaky trick. Thanks anyway. 🙂

    Kenotn Lewis

  94. Hey there “Jowett” –

Thanks for dropping by my blog and liking my post “And Now for Something Completely Different” which was not about Monty Python, but was about Music.

I was a bit surprised, given your own proclivities, that you didn’t start dropping names of bands or musicians that you like, or perhaps random, obscure references to songs I’d never be able to find on iTunes.

In any case, don’t be a stranger. Well, no, no, that won’t work. Be a stranger, but drop by my blog anyway and make comments. As a stranger.

    Well, that was strange.

  95. yearstricken says:

Thanks for your hitting the like button on my blog. You’re very likable in many ways.

  96. jannatwrites says:

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Yours has a different concept – I like it. But I have to admit, I’m very curious about what band you’re with….I’ll try not to lose sleep over not knowing the secret, though 🙂

  97. danidimps says:

    Thanks for checking out guffawyourself.com

I’ve had a very amusing time reading your conversations 🙂 Keep it up

  98. Hey dude,

Thanks for the blog like! You’re a homie now.

    Michael Jagdeo

  99. mary says:

Thanks for coming by my blog. I like yours, too!!! Very cool, fun to read…

  100. Thank you for reading my article Straight From the Hartsock. Keeping track of good conversation is always a good idea!

    Take care,

  101. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. I hope the tour is going well… I’ll be giving it some reading. sounds interesting.. Have a great one! Kam

  102. Jacey says:

Aloha! Thank you for the “like” on my latest post. I was positively astonished! I didn’t think anybody would stumble across it and I reeeeally didn’t think anybody would want to read it after they found it lol. I’m fascinated with your blog now — not to mention jealous that you get to travel around and observe these musicians and all their fun exploits. 😉

  103. robpixaday says:

    Absolutely fascinating!

Thank you for : looking: one of my posts yesterday! I really appreciate that.
    Have a wonderful tour!

  104. robpixaday says:

    Whoops! Sorry about that typo!
    : looking: …should read…… “liking”

LOL! I’m typing in the dark!

  105. Mark says:

Thanks for the Like on my Halloween post. I used to be in a band, years ago so this all rings true. You can read about it under Devious Corporation (the comedy of underachievement!) on my blog, The Vibes.

  106. TrendImpulse says:

Thanks heaps for liking my funny flies collection Jowett. Cheers!

  107. Hi Jowett! Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post. You were my first real visitor! Haha sad I know…but I have to start somewhere! Anyways, I’ve read some of your posts and they are hilarious! Keep up the good work!

  108. murfomurf says:

Keep it up, mate. More STUFF from those CELEBS!

  109. madisoncary says:

thanks for stopping by my blog! keep up the documentation of these interesting conversations! quite hilarious!

  110. bedstuychick says:

I laughed at your most recent post. Do you have a like button or did I miss it like a bloody American would? If so, please point me in the right direction! Cheers.

  111. wcman1976 says:

Thanks for liking my blog called “Artist Search.” It is amazing and sad to me how alone I am in my principles. I guess if I ever want this comic to see the light of day, I have to give in to this Gordon Gekko (sp?) world and just give the starving artists what they want…even though that means leaving THIS artist to starve more than them!

  112. lackadaisygirl says:

Thanks for the likes of my emo rambly posts 🙂 Your blog is prettttty funny too!

  113. ann says:

brilliant concept. hilarious output. are you a comedian? you could seriously write a series…

  114. Thanks for hitting my blog. I find yours fascinating! Especially as British humor is so much sharper than our American version. Good luck and thanks for sharing the journey!

  115. rynnasaryonnah says:

Hello there ‘Jowett!’ Thank you so much for liking my post and I do hope you’ll pop by now and again to have a read. I’m probably the millionth person to tell you what you already know, but this is a bloody brilliant format you’ve got here! Using conversations as entries. Coming from Singapore and not being much of a band follower, I am absolutely clueless as to who this band might be. I’ll definitely come back for more laughs though!

  116. sobnyc says:

    Hello friend,

We should talk. I actually penned a manuscript about wild and crazy shit that happened to me while growing up in a Irish/American/Everything part of New York City.

Thanks for hitting my blog. love your concept

  117. itsa5doglife says:

Sounds like a funny blog, looking forward to it and I’ll add to my blog list on my site. Even if I knew which band it is I might not recognize them because I’m just that clueless. When volunteering, I once refused Pat Green (a pretty popular country music artist in this part of the country) entry to our town rodeo because I didn’t believe him when he told me he was the entertainment that night. I made him show me his driver’s license. Hey, nobody parks for free on my watch. LOL

    Have a great evening.

    – itsa5doglife a/k/a rhonda

  121. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to stop by your site…I know, I know, I’m a jerk…I’ll chalk it up to being busy with school? 😛
This is a really cool concept! I’ll definitely be stopping by often 🙂

  122. Hi there!
I’m nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award, so please check out my site:

    All my best,

    James R. Eberts

  130. redwheelbarrow1957 says:

Glad you are enjoying my blog. It is fun for me hear all the silliness these band boys are up to. Thanksgiving is not much of a concept for you there in Britain is it? What big food holiday are you celebrating in the Fall before Christmas?

  131. Thanks for *liking* my post titled “Six Easy Tips to Include Humor in Your Writing”, I’m glad you visited and found it worth the *like*. Glad I checked you out. It was fun. Will be back.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I will be sure to take a read of yours…sounds very interesting and it almost sounds like a challenge to me…must guess the band!

  134. Great blog, but I just gotta know who the band is. Please tell me.

  135. Wished you had a “like” button for this page, however, I’ll just tell you “like”. I’m looking forward to reading more posts. Thank you for “liking” my previous post.

  136. […] still working for The Man down under, thanks for Liking me three times. imonthebandwagon [link: here], he’s with the band, liked me five times. Thanks dude. The only other person to Like me so […]

  137. Ane Ryan Walker / OffRoadRomance says:

Haven’t heard a band “live” since Woodstock! How’s that for old? Memorex, keeps me blowing and going every day! I can’t wait to read the conversations. . ..fodder for some future novels, perhaps?

  138. Hello again…thanks for keeping up with the Chronicles and liking another one of my posts! Cat

  139. Great concept, great dialogue…I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for liking my post.

  140. Arch says:

    Arch: I’m bored.
    Jowett: Why are you bored?
    Arch: Nothing to do!
    Jowett: Why nothing to do?
Arch: Because the day is gone.
    Jowett: Visit my blog,
    Arch : Why?
    Jowett: Cause I visited ur’s
Arch : but its Saturday tomorrow.
    Jowett: So?
Arch : There is a spider on my table.
Jowett:(Sarcastic) Its not gonna hurt u!
Arch :I can’t concentrate on this conversation until someone deals with it

Anyway, why was I here? oh ya, just to thank you for the ‘like’ on my post.

  141. halfcnote says:

Kinda fun – this eavesdropping, although I have to admit as a sometimes uniformed American, I find I have trouble translating the humor. But then again, I’m the one who has to turn up the sound to read the subtitles…(and thanks for stopping by a while back!)

  142. nsin1988 says:

Hey thanks for checking out my blog! I’ve been thinking of writing a story where the main characters are in a band — perhaps this blog will give me some inspiration!

  143. ryan says:

Curious…curious…nice blog. Nothing like a bit of an enigma… And thanks for the like!

  144. jonesingafter40 says:

I had to come over since you’ve liked a couple of my posts (todays with the kick off for my debut book release tour). Thank you for the like. feel free to comment anytime, I love your wit!

That conversation above- I hear ya Arch. Get the spider away if you expect me to hear anything you say! Can you give links to the band member’s blogs? Those must be interesting. Count me as a new follower!

  146. schietree says:

Thanks for the like over on my blog. I’m enjoying these wee dialogues – though I wish I could have been there to hear them in real life, sounds like you all have a great time together.

  147. Hi Onthebandwagon

What do you do with the band? Set things up? Lighting? Special effects? Sounds like an awesome adventure! Reminds me of the Kate Hudson movie–can’t remember the title–and the kid who spent time with her and a band. Bet you learn a lot. Most of it good:)

  164. Thanks for visiting and following “Poet’s Paddock.” … See you anon! … Shakespeare “The Equine.”

  165. danglezz says:

i know who the band is…..it’s Radiohead isn’t it?

  166. Miss Dilly says:

Can I ask you a couple questions? Okay, well I am. Is “bandwagon” in one of the songs of the band? What instrument do you play? Are you guys currently on tour?

Would be awesome if you answered, but I think I could pick up the pieces and go on with my life if you don’t.

ps I thoroughly enjoy your blog- looking forward to more posts!
